Diagram? I highly doubt it given that I don't think they teach cursive writing, and based on the facebook status of my teenagers, the difference between two, to, too! I two loved to diagram sentences! (The two was intentional...I think I have split personalities!)

I have read Wuthering Heights at least once a year since my junior year of high school. I thought I would hate it, but it really loved it and it stuck with me. Another one I read a lot is Where the Red Fern Grows. I don't know what the draw is because it could not be further from my experience, but it is a really wonderful story.

[...] Football is the greatest damn game ever invented, but it is not life. Football is intensity, competitiveness, sportsmanship and violence, but it is not life. Football requires immense strategy and teamwork, but it is not life. Football provides education, drama, entertainment, and a solidarity which binds communities, campuses and fan bases throughout the nation, but it is not life. Football is universal, it is played by presidents and paupers, genius and idiot, big and small, aggressive and passive, rich and poor, but it is not life. Football should not be all consuming. Football should not be the top priority. I know this for a fact, I have tripped and fallen down that hole before (see my story).
Mike, thanks for sharing this......Catholic domination of baseball in the Dotte in the days of my (and your) youth is well documented. I was on the first team Ray coached, and played on his teams into high school. He knew the game well and knew how to prepare us to play. Our practices were not difficult, but we worked hard would have done anything for him. Later, he became a great friend in my adult life. I lost touch with him for awhile, but recently found him on facebook. We are hoping to get together on one of my KSU football trips this fall.
